@supersolid_snake@lemmygrad.ml and @sovietsnake

Both metal Gear fans, both make good posts. The character from the game uses the code names naked snake and solid Snake. I like to imagine this literally applies to these two users too lmao.

@uthredii@lemmy.ml you can be mod there if you would like

Fuck Cars matrix chat room
Can we get this listed in the sidebar and in the matrix room, we'll list this lemmy?

Also shout out to smash for adding in terry, a character aint anybody ever heard of lmao

a teacher once told me;

think about how stupid the avg person is, and now imagine that half of them are dumber

Anyone else impressive how aggressive 'are you okay' has become?
Just saw a security guard kick out a homeless guy and he begun the interaction with 'are you okay'. I've been pressured via 'are you okay' a few times. Obviously it's a different story if like your friend asks 'r you okay'. Kinda like i was watching terry from fatal fury - 'are you okay?' then ~~buster wolf~~ *kicks out guy*. I guess the fatal fury devs noticed something similar too? Similarly, i've heard god bless is sometimes an insult around texas region

hey elon, the greenest cryptocurrency is to not use cryptocurrency

Western fiction emphasizes libertarian values. Any fiction that emphasizes other values?
A lot of Western fiction goes along the lines of: the world's in danger and since you're God's chosen person, only you can save the world. You don't require that much assistance from anybody else because you pulled yourself up by your own bootstraps Even if it involves a team, it's like a team off like 10 people, that the protagonist had to pull together in some way shape or form due to their personal charisma or something. In real life, to take down the evil dictator or whatever it needs a lot more than 10 people, and since you're not God's chosen person, you could even die. Additionally a lot of Western fiction places big emphasis on money. The protagonist will have access to very expensive equipment frequently. The evil dictator is basically straight out of a psych ward, which I guess is not offend conservatives, but It's rare that the evil dictator is even racist. Like Trump would make a great villain. This is kind of a follow-up to my personal branding question. But basically protagonists have done a great job with personal branding. --- I think it would help our cause a lot if there was fiction that emphasized basically the opposite of what I listed above. And it should go mainstream. Any examples of good fiction? Especially if it's free and visual

mean I think most men still think of women as property, which is why they think its okay to sexually harass them, so I think protection typically still stems from this.

Hmm? Protection and sexual harassment are related?

Made it for networking. Has been a major asset in terms of not having to give everyone my phone number

Looking up a friend on my Facebook friend list is like Russian roulette - half the time they have deleted me as a friend
Specifically people I met a long time ago or people i haven't spoken to as much Overall Facebook's a very dramatic social media. The fact that people's faces r on it calms a bunch of people down. But still, lots of of toxicity in the DMs It's a pretty trashy social media that emphasizes the advantages of being antisocial

Anyone else hype for when shadow joins the sonic movie universe
Will be a edgy pre teen pop off moment. Idk if he's trending with that demographics anymore

But you’re a nice guy sexypeach and we have you uwu

The report warned that Amazon’s labor crisis was especially imminent in a few locales, with internal models showing that the company was expected to exhaust its entire available labor pool in the Phoenix, Arizona, metro area by the end of 2021

Bruh it sounds like the way dairy farmers talk about their cows.

This whole thing does sound like imperialism is fundamental to capitalism.

Is this when amazon starts pushing the gov to take in more temp foreign workers?

this is the most late stage capitalism statement i’ve heard this year

based cause fu netflixs, but hope the 300 workers bounce back immediately

We are a family until we need to fire 🔥 some people.

Basically a narcissistic family. Narcissism is sorta a good 1 word description of capitalism

Is simp roughly the male equivalent of female dog?

in simpler terms to uphold the idea that women are property and the implications that come from that - if they are property then they need to be protected

Holy! This sounds about like what society sublimely says.

Of course, if a woman is to assert that she is not property or challenges her status as property or causes trouble for the property owners it may make sense for the system to then treat them as hostile and allow a counter-narrative to exist, such as it’s okay to hit a woman in these circumstances, otherwise we should protect them as we protect property.

the stock market! Dump when it does down, buy when it goes up.

Protect woman, but if they’re bad call them a b or karen. Whereas a dude - no specific b word and no trending karen equivalent.

Let me guess - women now earn money outside the household, therefore hitting them and risking giving them ptsd/whatnot lowers their output therefore protect women by default? But since like african-american women are more likely to be on welfare than caucasian women, lowkey default to calling african-american women welfare queens and be fine with them being mistreated more?

becoming a social media celeb is (like the lottery)

probably the best description ive ever heard of social media celebs. 1 caveat is that there are multiple lotteries -

  • the first is having rich enough parents that if the venture celebritism fails (which is most likely) you’re not at homeless risk

  • being good looking enough + not being toooo disabled in a way that impacts venture internet celebritism

  • a few others im not thinking of atm

then finally someone can enter the twitch/tiktok/etc streamer lottery

whereas for reg lottery, you cant boost your odds, aside from buying more tickets

The act of wanting to comodify yourself isn’t capitalist in a literal sense to me (I could be wrong though) as you aren’t literally exploiting other people’s Labour for profit but the conditions and markets etc (such as people selling themselves to sponsors and advertisement companies) is very capitalist and it makes me sad to see people essentially sell their bodies to companies for a chance of escaping economic instability. I find that so sad but so typical of capitalism so I do see your main point OP, self branding while in itself not inherently capitalist is one facet of a cruel and manipulative capitalist

You worded it much better than me

i think rightwingers are mean, assuming someone gets offended by being a c or f, but they sorta reclaimed slurs within their own communities.

Is personal branding a function of capitalism?

The randomizer uses the player name as the seed it seems! Same name same seed! The AI on hard mode is scaled according to like the average level of your party, not the PC. If you have a lvl 5 pkmn at the water gym, the game with use a minimum enemy trainer level from the base game. Wild pokemon are not affected by this scaling Safari zone seems to actually give 2 minimum perf IVs. Some added abilities like telepath don't work at all.

How do I meditate while trying to poo?
Serious question.

How did we go from "it's okay to hit woman" to "protect woman"?
I'm not sure if it ever was a societal thing where people thought it was okay to hit women, but from what I gather that's what it sounds like.

Anyone elses least favorite part of the Zelda games the dungeons?
I've only played wind Waker and Twilight princess. Didn't particularly like wind Waker. I liked Twilight princess, favorite part was Hyrule Field.
