  • Eastern Europe : scared of Russia, want to join a defensive alliance to protect from Russia, join NATO
  • USA : try to normalize relation, Eastern Europe join NATO. Russia pissed because they consider Eastern Europe as part of their influence sphere. Relation got worse because of Yugoslavia, Syria, Snowden, Russia accuses USA of every trouble in there country and their influence sphere meanwhile Russia tries to influence American elections. Also Ukraine.
  • EU : rely on Russian gas, so try to keep good relations but not at the expense of good relations with the USA that assure protection. Ukraine is the breaking point for relations. Used its influence to get Minsk agreement because do not like war. Russia invade Ukraine, not happy
  • France : had good relationship with Russia before 2014. can say fuck you to USA because have an army. But agree with EU and USA on Ukraine because think war is not justified (they knew Irak was not justified and refused to intervene and made their best to have pacific resolution of the tensions. Usa didn’t like it and french bashing was born)

I spent some quality time with my mother yesterday. And after I met some uni comrades I had not seen for ages. Living my best life

The article is behind a paywall. Can someone access it ?

Well, in France we’ve got free press thanks to it. So not for us. For the rest of the world, I don’t know

Isn’t apt install ***.deb an alias for dpkg -i ? (Not on my computer so cannot check)

Why abandon NATO ambition ? It is a defensive alliance that he seems to need, given the fact his country had alredy been attacked by Russia

What assets are not risky ? All assets are more or less risky. I think you are asking two different questions. What level of risk should take pension fund ? And who should bear the risk ? In France, they tried to solve this issue by investing as little as possible and giving cotisations of the workers to retired people. The risk is minimal but they did not profit from the rise of shares’ values. An interesing way to get answers to your question is to look who is currentely bearing the risk for pension funds and how retirement systems work in different countries

I agree, I don’t use neither the app but I might to help debug it

Never, I accepted they belonged to the past. They are a beautiful part of the past, but still I don’t regret it. We grew up from the relation and we are better elsewhere

Turkey has struggled with inflation and took really bad decisions about it. So, it is likely that it will still be worse for Turkey in the future

I think some economists tried to figure out what the share of unemployed people was supposed to be but there is no golden rule yet

Lemmy is working great on the web (desktop + mobile) but it should be noted that some people are still complaining about the app. Furthermore, genzedong might turn away some new people and repost are frequent on some lemmunities (lemmy communities). But discussions are different (in a good sense) from the one on reddit. I think the lemmy is great and I hope it will have a bright future
