You’re gonna sign up for this chess tournament
Most important! Share this event as widely as possible! Post on the fediverse and even on your Facebook, Reddit, tiktok etc
Sign up in the comments here. Just say your signing up.
I’ll arrange brackets. Or if you particularly want to play someone, mention it in the comments and I’ll pair you guys up
I’m open to suggestions, but lichess seems like the easiest way to set up matches, but really, if you can get your opponent to agree to use like Minetest chess, go for it!
If someone off the fediverse wants to play, have them contact me somehow. You could even relay their messages to me.
once the fedizens enquirer news paper is up and running, you’ll be featured there.
myself, @firstname.lastname@example.org, Michael from Perthchat and/or @Helix@feddit.de will simp for you
paid tournament will follow later on, if enough interest
Has this ever been attempted before?
Feel free to cross post all original fediverse content here. Ex, art, poems, OC memes from the latest movies etc.
c/fedizens highlights interesting interactions that span multiple fediverse (+ matrix) platforms AND methods to grow the fediverse (which includes lemmy)

Very nice initiative ! Is it real time or correspondence games? I will definitely sign up in the latter case.
Your round 1 is ready! https://lemmy.perthchat.org/post/73087/comment/22274
Correspondence. Like you both don’t need to be online at the same time
Ok ! Then I am signing up ! I am Liwott on Lichess
Boosting this, even though on Mastodon the comments to this post from Lemmy aren’t shown.
I do not think it is as much about Mastodon as it is about the federation between your instance and Perthchat. From (the Friendica instance) Nerdica I also do not see the other comments, while usually I see comments on Lemmy post
But this one is, strangely enough.
